What DVD disc do I need to fit a 2-3 hour+ movie? - dvd vhs hdd recorder

I use a LG HDD / DVD Recorder (Model: RH265), transferring old VHS tapes to DVD. Can not maintain I use DVD-R and DVD-RW, but an entire movie. Perhaps it has something with the recording modes (XP, SP, LP, EP, MLP, or FAST CAR), but in reality I have no idea what I do. Can anyone help?
